Funky Jazz Club presentation

Please join us for a special presentation of the Funky Jazz lunch club routines on Thursday, March 22 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or in advance through Neon by Tuesday, March 20.

Early dismissal Thursday

School is dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 15 for parent-teacher conferences. PTA-sponsored babysitting in the cafe for MNS students only will be available between 1-8 p.m. during your Parent Teacher conference.

Book drive

The annual Project Cicero book drive is Monday, March 5 – Thursday morning, March 8. Check out the MNS newsletter below for more details.

Winter Recess

School will be closed from Friday, February 16 until Friday, February 23. School will resume on Monday, February 26.

Playworks Parent Workshop

On Wednesday, February 7 (5 – 6 p.m. or 6 – 7 p.m.), come out and experience Playworks, our school’s recess program (for grades K-5) funded by the PTA. Look for the sign-up link in the newsletter below.

Talent Show this Friday!

This year’s annual talent show takes place on Friday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Wagner Middle School (220 E. 76th Street). Doors open 15 minutes before each show. Tickets are $10 in advance on Neon, $15 at the door.

After School begins Monday

The Spring AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM BEGINS January 29! Please remember to inform your child’s teacher of their new After School schedule, in order to make for an easier transition from academic day to After School.

Feb. break camp at 290!

Benswic Sports is offering a camp at PS290 from February 19-23! The all day sports camp is for children ages 6-11 of all ability levels. Register now because spots are limited and Benswic is generously donating 30% back to the PTA for all MNS families who register.

Superhero Challenge

On January 26, PS 290 will be kicking off a 10-day fundraiser that will culminate in a school-wide Superhero Challenge on February 6! Leading up to the challenge, each class will participate in a daily character development lesson, while fundraising for our school.
